NSW Fire and Rescue Safety Visits
Stay Safe with NSW Fire and Rescue Safety Visits
Free seniors fire safety checks for those over 65
Ensuring your safety at home is our top priority at NSW Fire and Rescue. For elderly residents, we offer a special service called Safety Visits to help keep your home and loved ones safe from fire hazards.
What is a Safety Visit?
A Safety Visit is a home visit conducted by our friendly and professional firefighters. During this visit, we will:
Check that you have working smoke alarms.
Ensure the smoke alarms are in good working condition.
Verify that the alarms are installed in suitable areas.
If you do not have a smoke alarm or if your current one is not functioning properly, our firefighters will install a long-life battery-powered smoke alarm for you. Additionally, they will replace existing smoke alarm batteries—all at no cost to you.
With your permission, our team will also take a tour of your home and property. This allows us to provide personalized fire safety advice tailored specifically to your living environment.
How to Request a Safety Visit
Requesting a Safety Visit is simple and straightforward. Just enter your residential address on the website, and we will schedule a convenient time to visit your home.
Protecting yourself and your home has never been easier. Take advantage of our free Safety Visits and gain peace of mind knowing that your safety is in good hands.
